Webbership started as the loyalty card I wanted for my own coffee shop. It became the one I wanted every small business to have.
I've been a software developer for over twenty years, and somewhere along the way I fell for specialty coffee hard enough to open a place of my own: OVRIDE Coffee in Timișoara, first a coffee shop, then a roastery.
I wanted a loyalty card for OVRIDE. The simple paper kind. But every time I talked to customers and friends, the same thing came up: they already had a stack of half-finished cards they never completed. Lost, left at home, in the wrong jacket, in the other bag. The card was never there when the coffee was.
So I looked for a digital version. I found a few, but none of them felt like mine. The card carried the platform's brand instead of OVRIDE's. I felt boxed in. And every feature that actually mattered sat behind the most expensive plan.
Being a developer, I did the obvious thing: I built the one I actually wanted. A real card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, with OVRIDE's name on it and nothing else. Every feature included. A price that didn't punish me for growing.
Once it was running at OVRIDE, it was clear this wasn't only my problem. Every café, bakery, barbershop and small shop that lives on regulars needs the same thing, especially now, when hospitality and small business are going through a genuinely hard time and every loyal customer counts.
